The new bottles are grey and have a red band for the 10W-40 Racing 4T oil and a blue band for the 20W-50 V-Twin oil. On the back label of the new bottles is a picture of a Mobil 1 filter with a caption to the effect of: "Try a Mobil 1 motorcycle

I put the 4.5 qts in then double check after riding. Haven't had to add any additional in the 7500 mile intervals. 100+ temp at times. While in most cases this is a true statement it is not always. It is possible that the oil pump has sized and that caused the gear to break. Oct 18, 2018 · Hi. For the Vulcan S, I saw some threads about the interval between oil changes, often folks mentioned every 4000 to 6000 kms. My mechanic suggested every 5000 kms. In checking the manual, it reads every 12,000 kms! I checked and rechecked this but it seems to read every 12,000 kms. On page 99 for Engine oil and oil filter, it is 1 (1000 km) 12

On my 2002 1500 Vulcan Classic there is a "site glass" on the right hand side of the bike down by the frame. Stand the bike up straight, and oil should be in the top half of the window.
